Hi Mr Allen! I enjoy reading you! This is a hot topic with me. I do not like how this draft selection process was determined at all, as a matter of fact it stinks to high heaven that the NHL did it this way on purpose to allow for more drama and tv ratings! If either Edmonton/Pitt get this pick it would be a real shame! I would love more incentives for teams to acquire the top pick and I belong the best way to stop teams from tanking, as I believe both did in this short tournament, is this; You get The top pick in the draft no more than once every 5 years! If you are an underachieving team and happen to have the lowest point total in consecutive years, oh well! Do a better job of planning, drafting and acquiring free agents! It’s a broken system!

You might want to get up to speed on the Qualifying Round winners, Mr. Allen. The Coyotes are not in the running for Lafreniere, as much as it may seem like they should be.

Who deserves him? One of the teams we haven’t seen on the ice since March.

Certainly not a team who was on their way to a ~100 point season.

Arizona cannot get Lafrenière... Nashville can.

Let’s not forget Pittsburgh also had Jagr, and Malkin. They’ve had enough!

I recall that 1990 NHL draft. 30 years ago! Wow! Owen Nolan was taken #1 by Quebec. Peter Nedved went 2nd to Vancouver. Red Wings picked Keith Primeau at #3. Flyers got Mike Ricci at #4. Pens absolutely stole Jaromir Jagr at #5.

Scotty Bowman who was with the Pens at the time said "we just won the draft. Jagr is the best player in this draft." He certainly was.

Peter Nedved said "don't tell anyone but he's better than me." He was referencing Jagr.

Best player in the draft was probably Brodeur but Jagr is a close 2nd. They are basically interchangeable.

Forgot about Marty. Flames took Trevor Kidd over him. 😲
